Our Story: From a Friend’s Plea to a Lifelong Mission

It all began with a friend’s desperate call for help. Joe Sweeney, a seasoned 30-year veteran with a background as a former SWAT Operator, Bomb Squad Commander, and U.S. government Explosive Security Specialist, returned home from an overseas anti-terrorism program. Haunted by the harrowing stories of child kidnapping and human trafficking he encountered, he couldn’t ignore the call for assistance from his friend. Three American kids were missing, and little did he know, this moment would change everything.

Discovering the Hidden Crisis

Upon reaching out to his law enforcement colleagues, Joe learned that human trafficking was on the rise in the United States. In fact, human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal enterprise in the world, generating more than $150 billion US dollars every year.

The Birth of a Lifesaving Mission

Motivated by a deep sense of purpose, Joe and Sue Sweeney decided to take action. They founded The Asservo Project, which takes its name from the Latin word meaning to watch, guard, rescue, and preserve. Their mission is to assist government agencies overwhelmed by trafficking cases, offering their expertise and resources. The team they assembled comprises law enforcement and military experts dedicated to tracking down traffickers and delivering crucial evidence to bring them to justice.

Meet Our Intelligence Team

Our dedicated intelligence team includes a retired narcotics detective and private investigator, former intelligence officers with expertise in counterterrorism, and a former Navy SEAL specialist in crisis and risk management.
